ABA Therapy for Autism (ASD)

Colorado Springs, CO

Care for your family & proper support is always your priority. This is especially true for families of autistic children who face challenges that are unique to a family of neurotypical individuals. At MGA our board-certified behavioral therapists and RBT’s are experienced in the unique challenges present with autistic individuals, and competently provide evidence based therapy that can have a lasting impact on the quality of your child’s life, and on your family as a whole. We strive to help autistic children and their loving families to overcome challenges and thrive.

Our approach prioritizes providing behavior therapy services that benefit individuals and the family.  When you begin working with our team, your child will be assigned a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Their roles are to provide instruction, analyze data, monitor progress, manage behavior, maintain patient material, and everything in between.

We understand that every patient is different, so individual plans are developed specific to the presentation of autism in the patient. These plans include the evidence based methods that are most likely to lead to positive outcomes & growth for your child.

In addition to Behavioral Therapy for Autism, we offer additional therapies for your child such as speech therapy and/or occupational therapy. The various professionals involved in your child’s treatment work together as a team of therapists sharing treatment plans and scaffolding their work to move closer to a stronger understanding and ultimately more successful outcome for your family.

Services

Clinic Based Setting:

Clinic Based Therapy at the MGA Behavior Therapy focuses on a combination of Discrete Trial Training (DTT) techniques and Natural Environment Training (NET). This combined approach helps children accomplish their individualized goals across specific developmental domains such as functional communication, behavior reduction, and self-help skills. Clinic-Based Therapy allows for children to practice school-readiness, peer play, and social skills throughout their structured schedule.

In-Home Setting:

In-Home Therapy targets a combination of structured-style learning through Discrete Trial Training (DTT) and Natural Environment Training (NET) In-Home setting. An “at-home” environment allows for generalization of self-help and adaptive skills within real-life scenarios alongside more frequent family guidance. In-Home services set clients up for success with 1:1 support from a Behavior Therapist in a familiar home setting.

Both Clinic Based and In-Home Therapy offer supervision, guidance, and support from a Behavior Therapist to ensure children and parents are continuously learning.

Augmenting Therapies

In addition to ABA, if necessary, your child can also partake in speech therapy and/or occupational therapy. These three therapies work together and your team of therapists will share treatment plans and scaffold their work to move closer to a stronger understanding and ultimately, greater independence.

Speech Therapy

Speech-language pathologists, also known as speech therapists, asses and treat a range of communication and speech disorders. Because the goal is to improve communication, therapies include articulation therapy, language intervention activities, and others depending upon the type of speech disorder.

Occupational Therapy

Our occupational therapists help children who have a range of physical, sensory, or cognitive issues. They use everyday activities and exercise—such as play—to improve school performance and daily activities.

The Principles We Follow

Behavior is evolutionary, so it is selected by its consequences; behavior is never random, and the child is always right. We incentivize the appropriate behavior based on your child’s experience, growth, and current mindset.
